Companion Module Manual Update

Sometimes a bug can be discovered in the companion module and a fix released, but the process to actually receive the update in the Companion application can take time, especially on the current stable v3 releases. Therefore, to receive the latest updates and fixes you may need to install the lastest version of the Companion Module manually. This can be done by following this guide.

Step 1 - Download the Latest Module Release

Head over to the companion module releases page and download the latest stable release as a Source code (zip) file. Once this has downloaded you can extract all of the files.

Step 2 - Locate the Installed Companion Modules Folder

This will depend on your installation location. For most people running Windows, this will be something like this:

C:\Program Files\Companion\resources\bundled-modules\

Step 3 - Copy the Extracted Files

Locate the webcomms-panel folder and delete everything inside it. Then take your extracted files and drop them into the webcomms-panel folder.

That's it!

You may need to restart companion for the changes to take effect. You can confirm if you are on the latest version by clicking the module help icon.
